Born in Pittsfield Illinois Lyman Byxbe (1886-1980) worked as a professional artist in Omaha Nebraska in the 1920s. While summering in Estes Park Colorado Byxbe found his greatest inspiration amidst the wild Colorado landscape. Byxbe ultimately relocated to Estes Park where he operated a studio and gallery. He is best known for his serene views of areas around the Rocky Mountain National Park.
