LATE 19TH CENTURY FIGURAL CASE WITH CLOCK 7 ½"thick x 14" wide x 28" tall A white enamel dial with arabic numerals for all chapters, and all minute hash marks at the dials edge, with blued steel hands. Domed glass crystal. An 82 mm japy type, half and hour strike movement is utilized. An 18" tall gilt spelter female figure after Auguste Moreau (French, 1855-1919), plays with birds to the amusement of her child, on a stylized rouge marble base that is suspended 2 ¾" from a surface, by decorative scroll feet.

Blued steel Renaissance style minute/hour hands. Beveled glass crystal on front and domed glass on the back cover. An 80 mm japy style half and hour strike type, silk suspension movement is utilized. A bronze gilt philosopher with a tome in contemplation rests on top of a black slate base, decorated with a gilt border and heavy scroll feet. Weighs 45 lbs. Movement stamped Raingo-Freres.
