KAUBA 'BARE ON BEAR' MECHANICAL SCULPTURE Carl Kauba (Austrian 1865-1922), 'Bare on Bear', cast and gilt mechanical bronze with cold painted finishes, depicting a lady stretched out over a chaise covered in a silver bear skin rug, the figure wearing a flowing gown with a belt, when the belt is unbuckled, the gown opens and a nude figure slowly rises to a standing position, signed "C. Kauba" at the bottom end of bear pelt, resting on a rectangular marble plinth base. Approximate dimensions: h. 4. 5", w. 9. 5", d. 5. 5".
