AMES M1832 ARTILLERY SHORT SWORD
AMES M1832 ARTILLERY SHORT SWORD WITH SCABBARDMexican–American War era, Ames model 1832 foot artillery short sword and scabbard. Ricasso is marked with an eagle above N.P. Ames Cabotville on one side, and US 1846 N.W.P. on the other. The brass guard is stamped WAT on one side and NWP on the other side. The pommel has an eagle on each side. Double edged blade is 19" long. Leather scabbard is good with some cracking to the finish and small areas of loss. This type of sword was also used by the Confederacy in the Civil War. shipping info This lot can be shipped in-house.

THREE DUG RELICS. American mid 19th century. Bayonet for a .58 caliber musket reputedly from Gettysburg 21''l. and an Ames cutlass most likely a 1841 naval cutlass. Marked ''NP Ames Cabotville''. Remnants of brass hilt stamped ''33''. Dug from Fort Wagner according to collector's tag. 27''l. Together with a pike reputedly from Georgia 20''l. All as found condition.

Model 1860 Light Cavalry Sword By Ames 35" long single-edged blade with short false edge and 3/4 fuller; ricasso stamped Ames MFG. Co./Cabotville on left and US/WD on right; hilt with single-piece brass guard/knuckle bow with brass pommel having 1/4 backstrap wood grip. Steel scabbard with throat double carrying rings and drag. Condition: Leather and brass wire is missing on the handle.? Overall good.
