FIVE NYMPHENBURG PORCELAIN MIILTARY FIGURES, 'SOLDATEN'FIVE NYMPHENBURG PORCELAIN MIILTARY FIGURES, 'SOLDATEN', 20th Century, green printed and impressed Bavarian shield marks, impressed model nos. 938, 188, 745, 773 and 778, various impressed numerals, some based on designs by Hanns Goebl, comprising a West Point Cadet, an equestrian figure and three pre-Napoleonic Bavarian soldiers, each wearing dress uniform, on an oval domed base edged with gilt scroll, one soldier identified on the underside as a Bayern Grenadier, the flag bearer is identified in German on the reverse as an ensign from Basel and the equestrian figure is identified on his helmet and base as a member of the Bayern Schevaulerger Regiment, h. 12.25 in. A. MASSON "CADET à LA PERLE" 1ST PRINTING, 1667Antoine Masson (France, 1636-1700) sumptously detailed 1667 copper cut engraving of Nicholas Mignard's portrait of Henri de Lorraine, Comte (Count) d'Harcourt and Armagnac, who served as Marshall of France, and Ambassador to Madrid. This portrait is also known as "Young Man with a Pearl", or "Cadet à la Perle". First printing, with sight image height of approximately 22" & width of 16-1/2". Framed & single matted under glass in wood frame and having a framed height of approximately 32-3/4" with width of 27-1/4". Inscribed to the bottom of the mat in pencil: "R-D 34; 1s Etat; Henri de Lorraine, Count d'Harcourt; Known as the "Cadet a la Perle; Engraved by Antone Masson in 1667; Rare First State." Has been mounted to the mat, however it has come unglued almost in its entirety, except for the top. Has been cut down.
