Impressive group of Meissen porcelain figures of Muses late 19th century Each female figure modeled with their appropriate attributes: Urania seated on a celestial globe looking through a telescope and holding a compass; Clio seated next to a shield and helmet with an open book and stylus; Euterpe seated and playing a flute; Polyhymnia holding an open book and covering her face with her hand; and Calliope reciting poetry from sheets of parchment, all modeled draped in flower decorated robes with gilt details on scrolling rococo bases, blue underglazed crossed swords marks.
