The neck of the base is missing a .25 x .25inch enamel section. left handle is missing and there is slight gilt loss an tarnish to metal embellishment. vase- light painted gilt loss metal has lost almost all its gilt tone dulled. there is a .25inch chip to the top lip beneath the metal metal lip appears to have been repaired with glue. there are scattered pen tip sized dark brown pigment speckling just bellow the metal lip.Lidded jar- light amount of pencil tip sized black pigment spotting to lid. Darkening discoloration to metal. Scattered pen tip sized chips to lip of the glass jar and several pen tip sized chips scattered through out surface especially to corners and bottom edge. light grime build up to all.

Hand painted with purple bearded irises and with silhouettes of other foliage the foot and the interior at the top in bright gilt and the handle in a combination of bright and matte finish gilt.

  A DE VEZ ETCHED DOUBLE OVERLAY CAMEO GLASS VASE, FRENCH...A DE VEZ ETCHED DOUBLE OVERLAY CAMEO GLASS VASE, FRENCH, SIGNED, CIRCA 1910, the flat circular rim with rounded sides on a short wasted neck above a shoulder enclosing a continuous band of heart form spades flanked by curling leafy stems, above a tapering ovoid body decorated with a full moon breaking through thinning clouds and illuminating snow covered distant mountains on a lake, centering an island with tall trees and a walled village surrounded by moonlit dappled waters being traversed by a lone gondolier on his craft, before a dark verdant embankment revealing a blossoming foliage filled urn and cameo signature "deVez," acid etched double overlay in shades of gray and dark green on a pale yellow body. Height: 8 1/2" Diameter: 3 1/2" Note: The Art Nouveau era deVez cameo glass debuted in 1908 from the Cristallerie de Pantin, France (Crystal glassworks of Pantin, France) under the talented artistic direction of Camille Tutré Varreux whose works can be recognized by the "deVez" cameo signature. Production continued until 1910 utilizing complex acid etching, enameling and fire smoothing of crystal glasswares that were recognized and competed with other famed glassworks companies such as Daum and Gallé.
