Italian majolica cistern cantagalli, late 19th century Tin-glazed earthenware, the ovoid body with thick loop handles and rim, a spout to the base, decorated with a continuous scene of hares, hounds and birds, against a lively floral ground, blue cockerel mark to interior; base drilled. H: 18 3/4, diam: 12 1/2 in. - losses to glaze surface most notable on rim and handles, however there are also patches of lost glaze to body in several areas - the base has been drilled - cockeral mark to interior of vessel near the rim.
