Regency paint-decorated oak barometer circa 1830 of typical banjo form with broken-arch top above case fitted with hygrometer thermometer convex mirror barometer dial and level marked ''CA Canti 21 Cross St. Hutton Garden''; case outlined with painted stencil decoration. H44'' W12 1/2'' Provenance: Columbia South Carolina private collection. Appears to not be functioning; contains some mercury; missing knob otherwise appears to have all the pieces; wear crazing and rubbing consistent with age.

Pediment with possible rebuilding, lacking boss or medallion below barometer, brass plate at base possibly a later replacement, interior glass rods with breaks and losses, no mercury present.
