Antique c1860 LeMoyne Star Quilt
Antique c1860 LeMoyne Star Quilt Measuring 81"x 91". The quilt is comprised of 30 squares, 12"x12", set straight 5x6. There are 15 pieced star blocks with alternating off white solid squares. There are three borders: 1.5" pieced diamond, 8" off white solid and a 1.5" dogtooth border. It is entirely hand pieced, hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied pink cotton print binding. It is in fair condition with storage discoloration, water marks, edge wear, and fabric deterioration but the quilting is magnificent with a Celtic knot-like motif in the alternating squares and a feathered vine in the border.
