A Pair of Chinese Carved Lacquer and Gilt Wood Cabinets 18th century each of rectangular form having figural scenes carved throughout the fronts depicting a village in the mountains with a gilt reserve having a border of repetitive geometric pattern and raised atop a shaped apron and squat cabriole legs the interior fitted with two drawers and a shelf with the interiors of the doors carved with mountains scenes in lacquer having gilt decoration throughout the interior of scholarly objects with two roundels of phoenix on the bottom shelf the backs inscribed with an extensive text by the Han Dynasty general Li Ling. Height 60 1/4 x width 36 x depth 19 3/8 inches.
