• Vintage 1976 Bicentennial Quilt
  Vintage 1976 Bicentennial Quilt measures 75x109". It is medallion style with a 51x42" white area with a blue hand quilted eagle surrounded by 13 red 5 pointed stars. The eagle is surrounded by 50 blocks 10.5x10.5" red with blue circle with white star. Hand pieced, hand appliqued and hand quilted. There is a polyester batting and a white poly cotton reverse. The edge is finished with a white poly cotton applied binding. It is hand embroidered along the bottom corner of the back North Brunswick Women's Club 1976. Research found the quilt was a group effort. The quilt was raffled off at their Bicentennial Ball with the funds raised going to a North Brunswick student for college. In good condition with some seams needing restitching and a small spot on the binding. The North Brunswick Women's Club still exists. If you have any doubt, please ask questions! Height: 34" Diameter: 22" Condition: Some paper gores have a few small scratches, old hand applied black watercolor/ink geographical details and markings, incomplete red ink lines and marks, paper has darkened with age or was tinted a light brown, paper shows evidence of slight shrinkage, and surface build up throughout.
