OF BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS, WITH MASONIC KNIGHTS TEMPLAR INSIGNIA American Quarter Sawn Oak Tall Clock in walnut finish, Gothic style, ca. 1900, with flat top bonnet having dentil molding, gothic tracery over glass door, open sides with cloth (missing but the lot includes replacement gold material), three train drive having graduated brass weights and nine nickel plated tubular bells. The silver dial had engraved roman numerals, seconds bit, surrounded by clouds, having the Cross of Lorraine at top, serving as a symbol of the Masonic Knights Templar, or more properly "The United Religious, Military and Masonic Orders of the Temple and of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta". The lower case bears a raised quatre-foil decoration. 95 1/2" tall (7'-11 1/2") x 24" x 16 3/4". Good condition.
