Prehistoric Native American Chipped Gray Flint "Clovis Point" Spear Tip, w. 1-1/2", l. 5-1/2". This type of point is named for the Clovis, New Mexico, site where the first such points were found. The "Clovis Points" are estimated to be 12,000 to 14,000 years old.

4 NATIVE AMERICAN CHERT CLOVIS
4 NATIVE AMERICAN CHERT CLOVIS PROJECTILE POINTSNative American, Midwest United States, Paleo-Indian Period, ca. 13000 to 8000 BCE (15,000 to 10,000 BP). A fantastic set of 4 hand-knapped chert Clovis type projectile points of lanceolate forms with gentle notches knapped into the bases. The first point bears smoky gray and beige hues and has a shortened body that culminates in a pointed tip. The red-hued stone point exhibits wonderous coloration and has a gently tapered lower body. The light gray point has gently convex faces that taper towards the rounded point. The largest point - boasting a creamy yellow hue - displays petite ridges along the edges as well as a shallow hafting groove on each face. Modern Riker box included. Size of largest: 4.2" L x 1.05" W (10.7 cm x 2.7 cm); (Riker box): 6.2" L x 5.2" W (15.7 cm x 13.2 cm)

Condition:
Loss to one tail fin on smallest point; remaining 3 points are intact and excellent. Minor nicks and abrasions commensurate with age and the knapping process, with light surface roughness on light gray point. Great surface smoothness and preservation to forms.

129 MOUNTED NATIVE AMERICAN POINTS & ARTIFACTSLarge mounted collection of Native American points and other related Indian tools/artifacts, 129 total, catalogued and numbered by the McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture, Knoxville Tennessee. One item of note is a Clovis point, #52, from the Paleoindian period. A complete inventory of all items with dates is provided within the photos. 18 1/8" H x 35 1/8" W. Provenance: Collection was assembled by George Perrin, the consignor's great-great grandfather on his farm located north of Dayton, Ohio.
Condition:
All items in as-found condition. Each item mounted on a board backing and secured by wire. Two holes to board are a result of prior mounting.

Clovis Edmond Masson (1838-1913 France) Deer Family Bronze. A gilt bronze statue of a buck, doe, and fawn. Signed on base and inscribed 'Salon des Beaux-Arts'. Measures 14.5x15x8'' and weighs 24 lbs. Doe is missing one screw to base and could be tightened down, overall excellent condition.

DOVETAIL LANCEOLATE ALIBATES FLINT POINTS (2)Featured in this lot is this Dovetail St. Charles lanceolate Alibates Flint points. The points show a medium corner notched points with an elliptical cross sections. The blades show an excurvate examples with a serrated blades. The shoulders are barbed and feature an expanding stems. Each of the points are hand written with the following: Ed Moreland - 2019 - (unidentified signature) - 2-15-12. These points are identified consistent with Dovetail St. Charles points but the origin date is undetermined. The condition of this pair of points show well knapped and preserved condition with no observable wear marks or chipping. The measurements of these points are 4 7/8" x 1 3/4" x 1/4" and 3 3/4" x 1 1/2" x 1/4". The collective weight of these points are U6oz.

WOODEN CASE WITH (46) AMERICAN INDIAN PROJECTILE POINTS The flints present might indicate Kentucky and Tennessee origins, whereas the white quartzite points could be from Virginia or the Carolinas; the archaic dovetail spear point is fashioned from hornstone flint and sports a bullseye pattern above the base. This point cannot be guaranteed as ancient, but is spectacular nonetheless.
