  COLT 1895 DOUBLE ACTION 38 REVOLVERColt Model 1895 DA .38 revolver. Serial #146812. Barrel measures approx. 4 1/2". According to a family letter passed down it belonged to a Pittsburgh city policeman in the 1920's. (see photo of document) Revolver has age appropriate wear with discoloration to the finish. Backstrap has notch near butt. Left grip has loss. Bore and cylinders have oxidation present. Cylinder rotates counterclockwise when hammer is down. Rifling is easily visible.
