AFTER FREDERIC REMINGTON (AMERICAN, 1861–1909) 13 ½" x 15 ¾" x 10 ¾" "Coming Through The Rye", originally created in 1902, posthumous cast scaled diminutive sculpture bronze of four mounted cowboys, pistols raised aloft, keeping a steady pace in a tight, boisterous group, incised signature in the base "Frederic Remington".
This sculpture was inspired by the artist's own illustration published in "Century Magazine" in October 1888 and in “Harper’s Weekly” in December 1889. Attached to a white veined, black marble base.

Mounted on a brown marble base. Signed in the cast. This was Remington's first effort in using more than two horses and was his largest piece to date. Condition noted, the two middle riders have bent pistol barrels, otherwise excellent overall condition. Measuring, 30" high x 30" wide x 26" deep. Note: VERY HEAVY, 300 pounds; crating recommended, please contact our office.
