Staining, discoloration and foxing throughout, holes at all 4 corners, horizontal creases throughout and vertical crease through center, tears along edges and creases.

A PAIR OF NICE LOUISIANA $50 CIVIL WAR STATE NOTES While the US Constitution forbade states from printing currency, the Confederate one did not so most southern states continued to print their own money through the civil war. These $50 were printed March 10th 1863 in Shreveport and are Criswell 12's and rated scarce to rare at R-6. SN 3821 shows a flamboyant signature by Treasurer Peralta which has an ink burn from the heavy signature. This one should be XF with only a couple small corner folds. The next one, SN 4284, shows a tired Mr. Peralta no longer signing so flamboyant but still with a flair. This one should be VF with a few old folds and creases. General Leonidas Polk Is the central figure.

War Record dated 1896 and published by JM Viceroy & Co. Terre Haute IN. 26.5''h 20.5''w in frame 33.5''h 27.5''w. Neither were examined outside of their frames. Confederate Note Memorial's frame has some wear and paint loss while the War Record has some staining around margins and some frame damage.
