New England great chair, ash throughout, woven split seat, mellow brown patina, fitted with loose cushion, coastal Massachusetts, late 17th/early 18th century, 44 x 23-1/2 x 16-1/2 in. Good condition with breaks and wear to seat, one front stile with two holes where round mortise has broken through, sits slightly askew, joints slightly loose, normal cracks, surface wear and abrasions consistent with age and use.
