Condition
Each with minor wear. The transfer printed with minor losses to the decoration and a star shaped crack to the base. The creamware with heavy staining and a chip to the spout. The ironstone with two minor cracks to handle. Otherwise in good condition.Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.

English Creamware Pitcher, unmarked but likely by Herculaneum Pottery, with transfer decoration for the American market -- a spreadwing eagle atop a cannon above a cartouche with "Peace, Plenty and Independence" flanked by allegorical figures, an American flagged three-mast sailing ship, and crest of eagle, stars, shield and "E Pluribus Unum" below the spout, 10" high, 10 1/4" x 6 3/4". Rim flakes and restoration area, body hairlines and interior restoration area, foot chips.

Titles of author's books around neck Excelsior/Hiawatha/Evangeline/Miles Standish with the underside printed Manufactured by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Etruria / For Richard Briggs / Boston / Registerd. in Great Britain / and France / Also in the United States. Marked below with impressed Wedgwood and red painted R 7920; ht. 6.5 in. Condition: Wear to surface cracking of glaze at spout.

Seven pieces British ceramics: two Leeds creamware pitchers with similar floral bouquets, one 7 in., chips and repairs to spout, surface losses and abrasions, base with star cracks , one 3 in., extensive cracks, chips and restorations throughout ; miniature tripod teapot, white with applied blue decoration, paw feet, 3-1/4 in., handle repaired, spout chip, one foot restored, lacking finial, other rim chips and abrasions, minor loss to blue decoration; two handleless cups, 1-3/4 in. with matching 4-3/4 in. cup plates, green and purple floral decoration and borders, one cup with rim chips and related cracks, one cup with foot chip, surface abrasions, chips and losses, cup plates in good condition, one with minor rim chip , probably British, all late 18th century, (seven pieces). Deaccessioned from MESDA and Old Salem to benefit the Acquisition Fund.
