REMINGTON PERCUSSION TARGET RIFLEA beautiful Percussion target rifle, with heavy target barrel by R.M.Wilder, of Clearwater, Michigan, and lock by Remington, with target sights, including a Creedmore sight on the barrel tang, with a gutta percha disc, and a peep sight at the muzzle. The gun has a octagonal barrel, and half stock, and is similar to rifles known to have been used by Civil War sharpshooters, including Berdan’s. There is a brass patch box on the stock. The gun comes with an additional steel ramrod with a ball dimpler point. Dimensions: The barrel is 32 inches long, and the gun is 47.5 inches long overall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $105.00 plus replacement cost insurance.
Condition:
There is a sliver of wood missing on the forend, the gutta perchas disc on the Creedmore sight is cracked, and the lockplate is dirty, but the gun is excellent overall. REMINGTON ROLLING BLOCK NO. 1 TARGET RIFLEA beautiful Remington target rifle, with massive target barrel and Creedmore sights, in superb condition. The gun has an elegant simplicity to it, with outstand craftsmanship. It has a straight stock with no checkering, and simple iron mounts. The Creedmore sight on the tang has a gutta percha disc, and is marked L. Shaver. Serial number: 7574. There is a peep sight at the muzzle. The barrel and action are clearly marked, with the latest patent date being 1872. Dimensions: 49.5 inches long overall, with the barrel being 34 inches long. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $65.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
Condition:
Excellent condition overall. There are several small scratches on the barrel by the breech, but the gun retains almost all of its original blue, and traces of case hardening on the action. The stock has a beautiful straight grain. There is an empty screw hole at the end of the trigger guard tang. There are traces of very minor rust on top of the finish in a very few places. NEW CREEDMORE MECHANICAL BANK Red target J & E Stevens Co. designed by James H. Bowen circa 1891. Place the coin in proper position on the barrel of the rifle by pressing the right foot it is thrown into the opening which is the bull's eye of the target. As the coin enters it strikes a gong bell and the rifle is so arranged that a paper cap may be fired at the same time. (Exc Cond.)
