REMMEY, PHILADELPHIA STONEWARE CAKE CROCKA circa 1870 stoneware cake crock with lid, Richard C. Remmey of Philadelphia. Round shape flanked by handles, two incised lines and blue leaf decoration about the exterior, leaves about the lid's handle. Impressed "R. C. R." below one handle. Lid is unmarked. Numerous chips and a crack noted to the crock. 10" diameter, 7 1/4" high overall. ESTIMATE $300-500

STONEWARE CAKE CROCKA circa 1870 stoneware two-gallon cake crock with lid, possibly Baltimore. Round with squared rim, flanked by handles, blue three-leaf sprout decoration about the exterior, and leaves on the lid. Impressed with an encircled "2" below one handle, and the lid is hand numbered 18 in black. Similar to an example attributed to Peter Herrmann, Baltimore, Maryland. Lid has a crack and chipped handle, and is likely a replacement; multiple rim chips to the crock. 12 1/4" diameter, 7 1/4" high overall. ESTIMATE $300-500
