AUTHENTIC ARMOR BREASTPLATE ENGLISH CIVIL WAR PERIOD Cromwellian circa 1635 Iron Cuirass Breastplate for a Harquebusier, of typical form with a medial ridge, thickened rounded 'roped' edges at the arms and neck and a shallow skirt with pointed base, having remnants of scrollwork decoration, now nearly lost in the pitting of the surface, lugs intact, remnants of strap rivets, roughly 14" x 15" x 12". Corroded, losses at bottom.
Found with the helmet that is lotted separately, which had an old paper tag that reads "Pinkney Sale, NR Sheraton, Wilts, 17th c.".
