CYPRESS KNEE LAMP, FLORIDA SCENE
CYPRESS KNEE LAMP, FLORIDA SCENE SHADEGreat piece of Floridiana. The lamp base is a nicely sanded piece of cypress root and the 4-panel shade features 4 photographic scenes including such unforgettable tourist sites as Bok Tower, Cypress Gardens. Weeki Wachee Mermaids, and the Miami Skyline. These are printed on a transparent celluloid-like material that is a bit fragile, but light from the bulb inside passes through the scenes making them look real. The lamp towers 27 inches, and has had the cord replaced. Condition is very good, but there are a few spots where the plastic strip that laces the pictures to a steel frame have broken, and there are some small edge chips missing from the pictures. Great souvenir probably from the 1950s .
