SIAMESE SHELL AND GEM SET GILTWOOD COFFER, 19TH C Siamese shell and gem set giltwood and lacquer coffer or jewelry box, likely late 19th century and before 1940, the gilt exterior finely carved with scrolling foliate detail with runs of blue, green, red, and white tinted iridescent shell, the lid set with 9 faceted gems (3 lacking) opening to reveal a red lacquer interior. 7" H x 14" W x 11" D.

CHINESE WHITE JADE CARVED PLAQUE W/ GEM,18TH C. A Chinese white jade carved plaque/mirror with gems, dating from the 18th century. Plaque is set in a larger oval metal setting with ornate border. On either side of the oval carved jade plaque are 4 colored gem stones (jadeite and tourmaline) in a raised setting. Reverse side is a beveled mirror set into the metal. Provenance: collection of a private Maryland collector
