Nabinger;" 12'' x 16'', framed 18 1/2'' x 22''. Note: Dollie Nabinger knew that she wanted to be an artist from a young age. When she was 13 she was accepted as an apprentice in the studio of the well-known landscape artist J.F. McCan who lived in her hometown of Victoria, Texas. She studied and trained with him for seven years before moving to New York for two years to study at the Art Students League. Back in Texas, she studied and worked with José Arpa and Harry Anthony DeYoung in San Antonio. The Texas landscape was always the most important theme for Nabinger and her works are often characterized by depictions of blooming flowers or trees suffused with a soft, warm light.
