A pair of Chelsea Derby candlesticks c.1770 each modelled with two rabbits in front of bocage on shell and scroll moulded bases gold anchor marks lacking sconces 7.25in. Estimate ?150-200 Both candlesticks are lacking their sconces and one is missing the back half of the loop which would normally have a hole to hold the sconce there are typical losses to the flowers and leaves all over and some evidence of old restoration to the bocage both handles are lacking most of the flower thumbpieces to the handles at the back and one of the handles has cracks around it this same candlestick has large firing cracks around the central hole beneath. Only one of the candlesticks has the gold anchor / dagger mark. Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear imperfections or the effects of aging.
