Derby blue ground three piece garnitures, of which the present vase is of the central shape, represent some of the most ambitious achievements of the factory in its early years. The painting features, unusually, figures on one side and birds on the other. Formerly attributed to be Longton Hall, some examples may have been decorated in London.
