The trigger guard, sideplate, thumb piece, bolster plate, bbl escutcheon & forearm tip are solid silver. There are silver bands around the breech plug that also has a modified starburst "P". The German silver cap box in the butt has an iron door. CONDITION: 80% brown on the bbl with considerable visible streaking, but no gold remains. Bands on the breech plug are heavily tarnished, and there is some evidence of cleaning in that area. FINE CASED PAIR OR DERINGER PISTOLS. NSN. 44 Cal. .4” irregular bbls. Marked “DERINGER / PHILADELA” on the lockplate and breech plug. The sunburst “P” is on the left side of the breech plug. One of the pistols has the number “1” at the tail of the triggerguard; the other has the number “2”. Both have the gold flecks on the bbl. Engraved German silver mounts with a pineapple finial on the trigger guards and iron cap boxes in the butts. Dovetail German silver front sight V-notch rear sight on the breech plug. The walnut stocks are checkered at the wrist and butt. The red brass tips of the ramrods are engraved. The hardwood case is mounted with a blank inscription plate on the lid, lined with pink velvet and has compartments for the pistols, a powder flask, a bullet mold, a loading rod, a tin of caps, and a key which operates the lock. The mold is marked 54. The flat brass 3-5/8” flask is unmarked. CONDITION: Number “1” pistol retains most of the gold fleck on the top of the bbl and about half on the sides. Casehardening on the lock and breech plug is dark but shows no wear. Front German silver band on the breech plug has some flaking. There is a bruise on the checkering on the right side of the wrist. Furniture is excellent. Only traces of gold fleck remain on the number “2” pistol, but the rest is equal to the number “1”. Case has minor dents and scratches on the exterior with some stains and losses to the interior. Bullet mold has light pitting. Powder flask has light dents. 4-59097 FS611 (5,000-8,000)
FINE DERINGER POCKET PISTOL. NSN. 41 Cal. 2-5/16” irregular bbl. Marked “DERINGER / PHILADELA ” on the lockplate and breech plug. The breech plug is also marked with the sunburst “P” and has German silver lines at the front and rear edges. The lockplate, hammer, breech plug, cap box cover and all German silver mounts are engraved except the nosepiece. The triggerguard has a pineapple finial of the style usually found in the 1848-1850 period. CONDITION: Fine overall with traces of the Damascus pattern remaining on the bbl, but no gold fleck. Casehardening on the lock and breech plug has turned dark. Wood is fine with slight wear to the varnish on the grip. Mechanically fine. 4-60671 FS780 (1,500-2,500)
DERINGER MODEL 1842 BOX LOT PISTOL. NSN. Cal. 54. 6” rnd bbl. Walnut stock. Bbl is rifled with 7 grooves. Marked “US / DERINGER / PHILADELA” There are no inspector marks or cartouches. Ramrod swivel assembly has been replaced. CONDITION: Fine, with 80% of the orig brown mixed with light surface rust on bbl. Strong traces of casehardening color remain on the lockplate and hammer. Wood is fine with only minor dents and scratches with some rounding of the edges at the rear of the lockplate. Mechanically crisp. 4-58288 FS19 (3,000-4,000)

CURRY & BRO / SAN FRANCo CALa / AGENTS" on top of the bbl. The breech plug has German silver bands and the sunburst "P" and German silver mounts including the cap box in the butt. CONDITION: Mostly smooth brown patina on the iron parts. Small crack on the left side of the forearm at the bbl key escutcheon. About 90% of the r-varnish remains. GOLD BANDED SILVER MOUNTED DERINGER PISTOL. NSN. Cal. 44. 2-13/16" bbl (3-9/16" including breech plug). Marked "MANd FOR / HYDE & GOODRICH / AGENTS N.O" on top of the bbl. Also marked "DERINGER / PHILADELA" on the lockplate and breech plug. The breech plug has gold bands on both ends and the sunburst "P" on the upper left flat. Also notice the shape of the bolster. The ramrod is broken off in the channel. The sideplate, trigger guard & escutcheons are silver. The forearm tip, butt cap, thumb plate, and front sight are German silver. There is a cap box in the butt cap. CONDITION: Gray patina overall with spots of surface rust and light pitting. Stock is cracked between the tip of the trigger guard and the tip of the forearm cap. LINDSAY YOUNG AMERICA DERINGER W/O.B. & ACCESSORIES. SN 23. Cal. .41. 4" irregular flat-sided bbl. Light engraving on frame and sides of bbl. The black cardboard box also contains a correct brass bullet mold, a loading plunger, a powder flask & eight cast balls. The inside of the lid has an instruction sheet showing the pistol and the unusual balls that are required for loading two loads in the single bbl. CONDITION: 75% brilliant blue on the bbl mixed with spots of light surface rust and light to moderate pitting. About half the silver remains on the frame. Grips retain about 85% of the orig varnish. Cardboard box is scuffed on the outside but is still solid. Bullet mold has a few spots of corrosion. Loading rod has some light pitting. Powder flask has several light dents. SCARCE DERINGER M1814 COMMON RIFLE. Cal. about 64 smooth bore. Rare rifle with 33-1/4" oct to rnd bbl, brass dove-tail front sight and fixed standing rear sight. Top flat has the makers name and address and the left flat has the proof marks "F' and "P" along with a small "US". The lockplate has a medium sized "US" over the makers and an address in front of the hammer. It has a full-length one-piece stock with three bands, secured with rectangular studs. It has an iron trumpet head ramrod with sling loops on the middle band and near the end of the trigger guard. The trigger guard is two-piece iron with two finger ridges and stock has an oval iron patch box on the right side with a shallow cheek piece on the left side of the butt. The left stock flat has the faint cartouche of a "V" over "GF". CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl, obviously bored smooth, otherwise all the iron retains a very dark, even attic patina. Stock has two small cracks in front of lock plate screws and is missing a small chip in back of the lock plate and has a small crack back of the lockplate. There is another crack on the right side of the fore stock and the wood retains a dark hand-rubbed patina. There are wrench marks near the chamber end of the bbl. Mechanics are fine. FULLER PERCUSSION HALF STOCK RIFLE WITH EXTRA BBL. Cal. 52 & Cal. 72. Beautiful half stock rifle with 28" very heavy oct to rnd bbl, caliber 72 smoothbore with a dovetail German silver front sight and no provision for a rear sight. Bbl is unmarked. Breech plug & top tang are very nicely engraved with foliate arabesque patterns & two gold bands at the breech end with a very ornate scalloped nipple shield. It has a gold blow-out plug. It is mounted in highly figured walnut half stock with horn forend tip, outstanding German silver furniture with a very ornate large oval saddle shield with flower petal ends & elaborate Kentucky rifle style serpentine shaped flat bottom trigger guard, a small serpentine inlay back of the lockplate screw, a large foliate arabesque pattern inlay below the breech plug, an elliptical German silver inlay on the left side of the buttstock and a wonderful 2-pc patchbox with German silver box inside. Left side of the buttstock is inlaid with five seated Liberty half dimes, four with "1843" dates and one with "1842" date, laid out in a star pattern connected with numerous small silver pins & a large silver medallion in the center dated "1835". Silver inlay in the center of the stock is surrounded by the same pins. Wrist has skip-line checkering with the same small pins in the center of the diamonds. Forestock has an "1824" silver coin that appears to be British. Left side coin is missing. Back action lockplate is marked "W.S. FULLER / MILLBURY / MASS". All of the German silver furniture is very nicely engraved. The 52 caliber bbl is 29-1/2" and 1-1/4" across the flats, full oct with iron bottom rail, two guides, one of which is flattened. Breech plug is identically engraved with three platinum or silver bands. It has a tiny German silver front sight and an early style semi-buckhorn rear sight. Top flat is marked "DERINGER / PHILADA". Accompanied by a framed notarized statement from Wilbur C. Kraber dated June 13, 1923 giving the provenance of this rifle directly back to Maj. Gen. John Fulton Reynolds who was killed early on the first day of Gettysburg. CONDITION: Very good. The 72 caliber bbl retains about 80% orig brown with light surface rust & pitting. The 52 caliber bbl retains most of a fine blue/brown patina with fine to light surface rust. Stock has a long crack on the right side bbl channel with a repair to the horn forend tip. There are other cracks & a splice on the left side of the bbl channel with another crack on the bottom. Top tang is broken. Mechanics are fine, bores are dark & crusty. 4-57323 (5,000-10,000)
SLOTTER DERINGER WITH CALIFORNIA AGENT MARKING. SN 1. Cal. 47. 2-1/8" bbl (2-13/16" including breech plug). Marked "SLOTTER / & Co PHILa" on the lockplate and breech plug. Also marked "MADE FOR / R. LIDDLE & Co / SAN FRANCo CALa" on top of the bbl and "WART / STEEL" on the upper right side of the bbl. Silver mounts except German silver cap box in the butt. There is also a gold band at the rear of the breech plug. The rear of the bbl and upper left of the breech plug are engraved in sparse scrolls to match the hammer and lockplate. CONDITION: Traces of orig brown on the bbl, mostly gray patina overall. There is a crack at the rear of the bbl but the stock retains over half of the orig varnish. Condition: Very good condition with very good bores.?This gun retains ca 97% original nickel finish with some minor scattered light rust.?The bores have some minor pitting scattered throughout and the grips are near excellent with minor wear.?The hinges are excellent.
