John Skinner Prout (1805-1876) watercolour 'The Derwent Nr Hobart...' Tasmania signed 8.5 x 13.5in. Estimate ?600-800 Watercolour on paper which has some even discolouration and is now a rather buffish tone with a few small bleached spots scattered here and there notably top left and sky otherwise a few tiny dirt specks no sign of any foxing title is feintly inscribed on in the lower right hand corner signed lower left and just centre of bottom margin in an old dirt specked card mount and probably original moulded gilt frame which is a little tatty. No inscriptions or labels verso. Acid staining from boards do not have affected the work itself. Frame dimensions approx. 16 x 20in.
