Unframed; height: 22 in x width: 16 in. Framed; height: 33 in x width: 28 in.
Condition:
The print is in generally good condition. There are no rips or restorations. When inspected under a UV light there were no issues. The sheet is slightly toned. There is a crease running horizontally along the center where it appears the print was possibly folded. There is some light soiling along the margins. Some undulation to the sheet. The print is hinged to the mat in six places; along all four corners and along the middle of the right and left margins. Due to the way the sheet is hinged, the verso has not been inspected. The print is floated in the frame. There is some wear to the mat, some threads are loose along the extreme margins. There is an area of possible moisture on the bottom right hand corner of the mat that does not affect the print. The artwork is framed; some light wear to the frame; frame behind glass.

AFTER RUBENS O/C PAINTING, DESCENT FROM THE CROSSAfter Peter Paul Reubens (Flemish/Belgium/Germany, 1577-1640) large Baroque Old Master style oil on canvas painting titled "The Descent of the Cross". Depicts Christ's deposition, or His removal from the cross by attendants and apostles towards The Virgin Mother, Mary Magdalene, and Salome who mourn at his feet. Inscription reading "The Descent of the Cross" Painted in the Cathedral at Antwerp. From Rubens Masterpiece. By W.H. Howard, Sept. 1894" and stamp for "Geo. Rowney & Co. London, W." en verso. Housed in an ornate gilt and gesso frame with cartouche decoration and acanthus leaf corners. Sight: 35 1/2" H x 27 1/2" W. Framed: 44 3/4" H x 37" W. Note: The original version of this painting remains housed in the Cathedral of Our Lady, Antwerp, Belgium, where this copy was painted.
Property of a Tennessee Religious Institution.
Condition:
Craquelure due to thick varnish, no restoration or retouching. Frame with wear and scattered gilt loss.

ENOCH WOOD WHITE STONEWARE BLUE-GROUND LARGE OVAL PLAQUE, 'THE DESCENT FROM THE CROSS'ENOCH WOOD WHITE STONEWARE BLUE-GROUND LARGE OVAL PLAQUE, 'THE DESCENT FROM THE CROSS', circa 1777, the foreground inscribed 'Enoch Wood Sculpt.', based off a painting in the Louvre titled, La Descente de Croix (1697) by Jean Jouvenet, in white relief with Christ being lowered from the Crucifix, at the top of the Cross is a scroll inscribed 'JESUS OF NAZARETH KING OF THE JEWS', reserved on an enameled blue ground, h: 20.25 in., framed Provenance: Sara & Samuel Laver Collection. Skinner, Boston, 14 July 2018, sale 3115B, lot 225. Jeffrey Milkins Collection no. 927. Catalogue Notes: For a later example from Lady Charlotte Schreiber's Collection, noted as by Enoch Wood & Sons, circa 1825, see the Victoria & Albert Museum, accession no. 414:1306-1885 (Schreiber number - Sch. DAVE HODGES (1949 -) "GOLDEN DESCENT" BRONZEFeatured in this lot is this bronze sculpture titled, "Golden Descent" by Montana artist Dave Hodges, born in 1949 and circa 1991. This bronze sculpture features a bald eagle on a branch and is mounted on a hardwood shield with a plaque that reads as follows: "Golden Descent" by Dave Hodges. The bronze is inscribed with 92/100 - 1991 - Hodges and shows the artist hallmark next to the copyright symbol. Dave Hodges, a Big Timber, Montana artist, graduated from MSU in 1979. In 1982, he began his professional career as a bronze sculptor and continues successfully in that field to this time. The condition of this bronze is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good overall condition. The measurements of this bronze are 3 1/2" L x 5" W x 6 1/2" H. The collective weight of this bronze sculpture is 14oz.
