DIAMOND POINT ARMOIRE, QUEBEC, CA. 1790A refinished diamond point armoire with St. Andrews cross panels on the doors and two double-raised panels on each side, double panelled back. Nice size and patina with original pin and barrel hinges, beaded shelves, and forged nails and escutcheon. The top board, cornice and lower kick molding are replaced and the feet are extended to proper height. Quebec, circa 1790. H: 65"; W/L: 56"; D/P: 19.5". FRANCAIS: Armoire restaurée à pointes de diamant, panneaux à croix de Saint-André sur les portes, deux panneaux soulevés double de chaque côté, dos à double caissons. Belle dimension et patine, fiches à gonds, tablettes délignées, clous et entrée de serrure forgés. The cut crystal finished in an elaborate pattern of diamond point cuts and deep square-shaped mitre cuts. The underside of the piece is accented by a large deeply cut starburst. The box has gilt mounts decorated along the center.
