Condition: Barrels retains 98% of the brown Damascus finish.?Locks and frame retain most of the case colors just lightly muted. Stock and forearm?is excellent.

ENGLISH DOUBLE BARREL HAMMER
ENGLISH DOUBLE BARREL HAMMER GUNside by side configuration, both percussion sidelock plates marked "WALTER BREM" and engraved with scrollwork, articulated and engraved hammers, 30-1/8 in. barrels, brass bead front sight, gold colored scrollwork and "Warranted Laminated" on barrel rib along with scrollwork engraving between hammers and on barrel tang, walnut stock with checkering at wrist and forend, engraved trigger guard and metal component on forend, steel butt plate, gold inlays on top of wrist and under buttstock, overall 46-1/2 in.
Note: Walter Brem was born in Charlotte on July 31st, 1849. He was the son of Col. Thomas H. Brem, commander of Brem's Battery in the Civil War and Martha Fox Brem. Walter Brem was a one time owner of a hardware store on the corner of Trade and Tryon Streets with business partner William H. Martin. This gun is likely an English imported agent marked shotgun imported during his time as a hardware store owner.

Double-Barrel Percussion Pistol Combination Sword 20.5'' blade 4'' round rifled barrels with twist pattern finish 20.5'' blade. Fluted handles. Leather scabbard with brass fittings. Condition: Barrels are smooth with some of the twist pattern still remaining. Hammers have some light pitting with storage rust. Bottom four inches of the blade have an area of red rust and pitting. This was exposed because that part of the leather scabbard is missing. Scabbard is crazed with the bottom piece of leather missing.

Brown barrels German silver hardware .75" barrel rib with silver inlaid pheasant hunting scene and marked Warranted London Fine Twist German silver shield on right side of stock inscribed Albert Kern 1847-1860. Condition: Very good condition with good bores. The bores are lightly pitted throughout and the right hammer does not lock back. The stock has been sanded and refinished.

Marked several places; makers mark in gilt to barrel "Inv. on Beringer Bte a Paris", next to hammer, Beringer a Paris" and to flats Leopold Bernard Canonnier a Paris. Provenance: Acquired from Holt's Auctioneers on September 15, 2015, lot 905. Approx. length 44.5" (full), length 28.875" (barrel).

DOUBLE BARRELED PISTOL, GOLD PLATED
DOUBLE BARRELED PISTOL, GOLD PLATED A gold-plated, double barreled, percussion-lock pistol evidently manufactured in Germany. While no exacty manufacturers mark can be found over the chambers of the two barrels is written in German "Ich wurde verfertiget auf Marienschlos Greb." Beyond the writing the octagon-to-round barrels are engraved with floral patterns down the rib between them as well as some scales engraved around the muzzles. The trigger guard and pommel are also gold-plated with a sunburst engraved onto the trigger guard. The wood furniture has fine wrap-around checkering on the grip as well as some spirals carved along the channel for the ramrod. The pistol is in overall alright condition with some wormholes throughout the wooden furniture, a large crack just behind the left lockplate, and heavy corrosion in both chambers. Only the left hammer engages with its sears while the right hammer pivots freely.

Shotgun features double triggers, checkered semi pistol grip rear stock and checkered forend. Overall length 42 1/2", 14" LOP. Finish has an overall light brown and grpatina. Receiver retains some of the case color. Lockup action closes tightly. Clean bores. Forend has small chip to front edge, rear stock has age appropriate wear with small minor hairline to left side extending from sideplate.
