In the 1860's, with decorative wares expanding, Henry Doulton was persuaded to hire students from the Lambeth School of Art as designers and decorators of the new ornamental wares his company was introducing. Their outstanding creations heralded the beginning of the studio-art movement. This large size two-handled jug was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of Sir Henry Dolton in 1897. Limited edition number 1930 of 1,997. Series: Two-handled jugs.
