Walnut case with paneled sides, brass pulls, and divided drawer sections. 23" W x 18 1/2" H x 17" D. Note: The Clark Thread Company was originally a Scottish firm that manufactured embroidery and sewing threads, established in the 1750's by two brothers, James and Patrick Clark. Following the end of the civil war, American domestic sewing machines were becoming more widely available. Clark's sewing threads were among those recommended for use with these new machines. In the 1880's, the Clark company developed a six-cord soft-finished thread called "Our New Thread", which became known as O.N.T.
