Two Dresden porcelain figurines along with an Italian ''Madonna and Child'' figurine. The first Dresden depicts a woman in dance and the second depicts a man teaching a woman on the piano. Both Dresdens are marked on base and signed ''Germany''. Italian figurine depicts Madonna and child with gilt highlights and marked on base ''Italy 575''. Condition: both Dresden figurines have repairs to chiffon on dresses some discoloration Italian figurine has scattered small flea bites and flakes to porcelain see images. A GERMAN HAND PAINTED SATINWOOD BABY GRAND ART PIANO, B...A GERMAN HAND PAINTED SATINWOOD BABY GRAND ART PIANO, BY EMIL ASCHERBERG, DRESDEN, LATE 19TH CENTURY, of traditional form, having a hinged lid with a leaf tip detailed border centering a hand painted scene of a classically attired young couple resting amidst a romantic garden before a fountain with frolicking putti within trailing floral cluster borders, over a hinged flap having an oval reserve depicting an amorous youth and shepherdess resting with recumbent sheep in a bucolic landscape, above conforming sides of ribbon tied bows suspending blossoming garlands enclosing a keyboard and pivoting cover with a circular classical youth portrait bust flanked by flowering festoons, over a band of scrolling foliage and stylized anthemions alternating covered urns surmounting an oval painting of a bathing maiden and her partially robed attendant, flanked by similarly detailed flower decoration covering interior harp with raised lettering, "EMIL ASCHERBERG DRESDEN.," raised on paired tapering rectangular legs on brass casters.NOTE: Emil Ascherberg of Dresden is recorded as having made custom pianos in the late 19th Century during which time he exhibited at exhibitions around the world. His clients included the last Queen of Hawaii, Liliuokalani, who ordered a piano for her Iolani Palace in Honolulu which remains there today. 1879 he exhibited at the Sydney International Exhibition where he also won awards. It was in Australia that he formed a partnership with James Nicholson, but the partnership was dissolved after 5 years when Ascherberg returned to Germany. AN ANTIQUE GERMAN BURL WALNUT GRAND PIANO, BY ERNST KAP...AN ANTIQUE GERMAN BURL WALNUT GRAND PIANO, BY ERNST KAPS, No. 4744, DRESDEN, 1877-1879, of medium grand piano size and a traditionally shaped burl walnut case topped by a conforming hinged lid with a front hinged lid, centering a circular crisply cast and gilt metal medallion celebrating E. Kaps being awarded the Order of Albrecht Knight's Cross 1st Class by the King of Saxony encircled by cities, dates, and medals won, above an interior with gold paint lacquered cast iron harp/frame with molded "SYSTEM KAPS / PATENT.," and fitted with expected strings/hammers, etc, over a sound board centering a black stenciled listing of medals won at various exhibitions/expositions with locations from 1862-1876, above stenciled reproductions of the medals and an oval scene of the Kaps buildings flanked by baby grands, over "Hof -Pianoforte-Fabrik von / ERNST KAPS / DRESDEN," impressed serial no. 4744, interior side with applied London retailer's label C.E. FLAVELL, beneath an adjustable music stand of reticulated fretwork flanked by two similarly detailed slide panels, above a hinged fallboard covering keyboard and centering brass inlaid "KAPS.," over an underside suspending the pedal lyre fitted with two pedal rods and two brass pedals, raised on three scrolling blocks on tapering octagonal legs with turned capitals and ending in turned ring feet on brass casters. Repairs throughout, worn old felts, some strings unattached, hammer wear, faded areas, dry veneer, dings, light edge wear, veneer repairs, and build up throughout.
