Early 20th Century
comprising an example bearing the name C. C. Newberry in gilt lettering and marked Koken Barber's Supply Co. and an example identified Sport Fambrough, stamped Germany on underside.
Height 4 inches.
Ivy Holt "Sport" Fambrough was born on December 6, 1892, in Rusky County, Texas to Sterling Price and Della Mae Andrews Fambrough. He enlisted in the United States Army on October 9, 1917, and served during World War I for two years until his discharge on April 1, 1919. Fambrough married Willie Albertine Whittington Cordell, and the couple had one son, Don (1922-2011). According to U.S. Federal Census records, he operated a meat market and worked as a butcher in Longview, Gregg County, Texas. The nickname purportedly came from his son, both a football player and coach for the University of Kansas Jayhawks. Fambrough died on October 21, 1975.

ANDREW JOHNSON CHANGE OF COMMISSION PROCLAMATION Original commission from the Confederate Army to the Union Army and dated March 14th, 1866 to Second Lieutenant James Hammond Baldwin. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the 16th United States Infantry (Regular Army) on 30 March 1866 and transferred to the 25th US Infantry on 21 September and went on to become Regimental Quartermaster in May and June 1869. Signed in steel engraving by Andrew Johnson and in ink by William Seward on vellum. Also signed by Edward D. Townsend (1817-1893) with additional writing.

GETTYSBURG ADDRESS IN MASSACHUSETTS BOOK, 1864 Address of His Excellency John A. Andrew, to the Legislature of Massachusetts, Together with Accompanying Documents. January 8, 1864. Complete with fold out map of Soldiers National Cemetery at Gettysburg. Published January 8, 1864 by Wright and Potter. Antique-style three-quarter calf and marbled boards. 19th-century ink stamp on title page and contemporary inscription on second leaf. Internally clean. Devoted almost entirely to the Massachusetts war effort, published early in January 1864. The folding map shows the Soldier's National Cemetery at Gettysburg, dedicated Nov. 19, 1863, with the long speech of Edward Everett of Massachusetts and the short "Dedicatory Speech by President Lincoln," better known as the Gettysburg Address. Also printed is the "Programme of Arrangements" of that day, a list of Massachusetts soldiers killed at Gettysburg and buried there, and details of the cemetery. Monaghan notes this as an early printing of the Gettysburg Address. John Albion Andrew (May 31, 1818 ? October 30, 1867) was an American lawyer and politician from Massachusetts. He was elected in 1860 as the 25th Governor of Massachusetts. 110pp. With custom case.
