DUNCAN MCCLELLAN (AMERICAN, B. 1955) 20" x 11" vase only Exhibition Size. Alchemy cameo glass vase on stand. Monumental cameo art glass vase, green cut to blue glass, signed along upper rim, on metal stand, 30" x 20" overall. McClellan’s processes enable him to place imagery on the inside and outside (and in some cases both) of his blown-glass vessels through elaborate sand-carving techniques. In his vessels, the focus is centered around the internal graal and overlay techniques, incorporating hand-cutting, photo-resist and computer graphics. To finish these works, acid-etching, fire-polishing and a six-stage grinding and polishing techniques are used.
