Restored in 1948 at which time the signature and date were found, restretched on new stretcher, lined with wax and resin, crackle, abrasions above proper right ear, craquelure, stretcher marks, retouch throughout background, some at hands, hair, jacket, not in face and other important areas, up to 40 percent of surface affected; frame resurfaced, abrasions.
