[African Americans] Printed Bill
[African Americans] Printed Bill S.141. Subjecting Slaves Emancipated to the Payment of Debts Kentucky Senate Bill 141 no year Subjecting slaves emancipated to the payment of debts and for other purposes. In summary the bill states that all slaves emancipated by last will and testament shall first pass to the executor to be held as assets to pay any debts of the estate but that no slave shall be used to pay a debt until all other assets of the estate are exhausted. We could find no reference to this bill or the language in it anywhere and it is likely this piece was printed for circulation among members of the General Assembly.
