A Japanese bronze figure of a sea
A Japanese bronze figure of a sea eagle perched upon a rock signed 7.5in. Estimate ?200-300 The eagle is fixed to the rockwork stand with cylindrical pins and currently will slide out quite easily a talon on the left claw is lacking and one is bent out of position there are remnants of glue from a sticker to the back of the eagle and to the side of the rock work - this will remove otherwise in good condition. This piece dates from the Meiji period (1868-1912). Rockwork stand is signed at the back. Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear imperfections or the effects of aging.
