Mahogany and Maple Sideboard, having a single drawer with Sandwich glass knobs, bookmatched figured mahogany veneer front, above two-door cabinet with figured mahogany veneer panels, one interior shelf, inset tiger maple side panels and turned half-columns, paneled case sides, set on front paw form feet, 47" high, 43 3/4" x 22 1/4". Missing backsplash; surface wear and scratches, minor veneer losses and chips.

American Federal inlaid sideboard, figured mahogany veneers with line inlay, poplar and pine secondary, central drawer over two cabinet doors flanked by deep bottle drawer with false double front on one side, other side with two drawers, original brasses, Middle Atlantic states or Southern, 1790-1810, 39-1/2 x 69 x 27-1/2 in. Scattered veneer chips, cracks, separations and losses, some sun fading to top and one side, some warping to legs, later dividers in central top drawer, other minor repairs.

American Federal mahogany sideboard, poplar and yellow pine secondary, highly figured mahogany veneers, bottle drawers with original dividers, beading on top right drawer stamped "Alex Colder", middle Atlantic states, early 19th century, 43-13/4 x 69 x 25-1/2 in. Refinished, veneer cracking, warping and minor patches, break and repair to one front foot, brass feet probably later. Found in Charleston, South Carolina.

Break and repair to one rear leg, one front leg broken and partly replaced, extensive veneer cracks and separations, scattered molding and veneer losses, brasses replaced, other patches and repairs throughout.

AMERICAN SIDEBOARD, POSSIBLY
AMERICAN SIDEBOARD, POSSIBLY SOUTHERNAmerican sideboard, possibly Southern, with poplar primary, yellow pine and poplar secondary. Consisting of a tall shaped backsplash above a plain overhanging top, two center drawers above a center arch stepped apron flanked by two doors, all resting on tall tapering Hepplewhite style legs. Drawers, apron, doors, and sides all with deeply incised line decoration, square nail construction throughout. Sideboard paneled doors having mortise and tenon construction and wooden pegs. Sideboard fitted with unusual lollipop style pulls. Drawers fitted with carved oval pulls. 52 3/4? H x 58 1/2? W x 17? D. Third quarter of the 19th century.
Condition:
Appears to retain an old if not original surface. Backsplash appears to be an earlier element incorporated in the sideboard design when it was originally constructed. Drawer bottoms appear to have old replacements. Oxidation of varnish, interior mixed woods, and square nail heads consistent with 19th-century manufacture. Expected light losses and scattered abrasions to case due to use.

American Federal mahogany sideboard, highly figured mahogany veneers with poplar and pine secondary, D front center section with long drawer over two doors, turned and tapered legs, probably New York, 1810-1820, 40-1/2 x 23 x 25 in. Refinished, top with clouded varnish and sun fading and with later bracing underneath, both rear leg with breaks and repairs, brasses replaced, drawers fitted with later removable dividers, scattered veneer cracks and patches overall, minor patches at escutcheons, other normal wear and minor repairs.
