THREE CARVED AND HAND PAINTED
THREE CARVED AND HAND PAINTED DUCK DECOYS Three carved wooden duck decoys, the first is a sleeping mallard hen by Madison Mitchell, Havre de Grace, Maryland, with no markings, previously in the collection of Dick McIntyre, Port Royal S.C. with rigging hook and part of anchoring line; the second is a mallard drake, from Wildfowler Co, Old Saybrook, Conn; the third is a heavy mallard drake with distinct pressed feather impressions on the back half of the carving, starting at the wing colors and flowing back to the tail, painted with black gloss eyes leaving the remainder of duck in flat paint, sporting distinct nostril holes and a rounded impression on beak tip extending around bill on both sides forming a split look from unknown maker. Approximate dimensions: Mallard sleeping Hen, l.14", w. 7" first mallard drake, wild fowler, l.16" w. 7"; second mallard drake l. 16" w. 7".
