(2) IRISH SILVER COFFEE POTS, 18TH C. POSSIBLY1761, George Hill, Dublin. Engraved coat of arms. Pots show no date letter, but does show Hibernia and harp mark. Stamped GH. Both pots show dents and areas of repair. Strap handles with heat dispersers. Hinged lid with embossed swirl design and shaped finials. 9 3/4" high, 8" wide, approx. 4 1/4" diameter. 36.11 total ozt. Possibly replaced bottoms.

GEORGE III IRISH STERLING SILVER COFFEE POT George III Irish sterling silver coffee pot, the rim struck with hallmarks of the George III head of 1785, Irish sterling standard, and the city of Dublin, maker unknown, the marks effaced from underside, but with scratch mark "X 102", of tall tapering form with an acorn finial top and scrolling acanthus cast spout with shaped wooden handle, with repousse work of rocailles centering the later engraved arms and motto "Fortes Fortuna Juvat" [Fortune Favors the Bold] of John Arthur Douglas Bloomfield, 2nd Baron Bloomfield of Ciamhaltha (1802?1879). Weight 28.45 ozt. (inclusive of handle). 10" H. Note: Lord Bloomfield, son of the 1st Baron Bloomfield had a long and illustrious diplomatic career in Britain, and on his retirement in 1871, he was created Baron Bloomfield, of Ciamaltha in the County of Tipperary, this time in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which entitled him to a seat in the House of Lords. He died in 1879 without heirs.

SILVER. GEORGIAN PERIOD SPECTACULAR IRISH SILVER Figural Coffee Pot. A truly exceptional Irish silver figural coffee pot executed in a heavy repousse (Baltimore style). This coffee pot features well executed floral and scroll work throughout, a tremendous figural true to life phoenix head spout over a figural bust most surely depicting Brian Borul (Brian Boruma mac Cennetig), acorn finial and a wood handle, flanked on both sides with central cartouche (1) depicting an engraved red stag the other blank, and a wood scroll handle. With a City mark of Dublin, Maker's mark of William Nolan, and a date stamp of 1823. Total approx. weight is 34.85 troy oz (gross). From a Manhattan, NY estate. Dimensions: coffee pot measures approx. 11.25" in height. Condition: Good, with light surface scratches and minor dings/dents. Good, with light surface scratches and minor dings/dents. 1795 DUBLIN STERLING SILVER CHOCOLATE POTGeorge III sterling silver coffee or chocolate pot, measuring about 12" high and weighing 23.6 Troy ounces. Ornate repousse, hand-chased, depicting what appears to be a Chinese woman gathering flowers on one side and a Chinese man -- complete with conical hat -- releasing a bird on the opposite side. Several birds appear all over the pot, including three on the lid alone. Hand-hammered handle. Hallmarks include Dublin city mark and "IC" maker's mark, as well as a capital serif Y, presumed to be 1795, but possibly 1771. There is no monarch's head stamp. Very good condition, with a couple of light bumps, excellent detail. Sits flat. Period monogram on one side. shipping info This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice.
