  Five Erphila Porcelain Figurines The hand painted porcelain figurines depicting Dickens characters Sam Weller Dombey & Son Mr. Snodgrass Mrs. Gamp and Capt. Cuttle vary from 3-1/4" to 3-7/8"H. Each has the "Erphila" backstamp of Ebling & Reuss Philadelphia importers of German porcelain active at the turn of the 19th-20th century. Mr. Snodgrass also is impressed underneath with "Germany" and Mr. Snnodgrass and Dombey & Son have the cobalt blue underglaze mark of Sitzendorf. Capt. Cuttle has "Germany" stamped underneath. Impressed numbers and "Germany" on the backs.
