1 piece. Typed Letter Signed. Edison, Tho[ma]s A. Orange, N.J., Jan. 23, 1922. 1 p., 4to; minor discoloration outside of body of letter, minor creasing along folds. To James D. Law, responding to Law's theory of Edison's Scotch paternal ancestry,... "My Mother was pure Scotch, but my Father's people came from Holland... I guess I am Scotch from the navel to the top of my head and the other half Dutch. I am a great admirer of Ingersoll and Thomas Paine." Attractive, with dark signature, on Edison Laboratory letterhead, also with addressed envelope. Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. [THOMAS EDISON] 1929 LIGHTBULB, SIGNED PHOTOPhotograph of Thomas Edison's son, Charles, who took over the company for his father. Inscribed on mat to Graydon Jones in 1946. (Jones was with the Fort Myers, Fla., Chamber of Commerce when the Edisons donated their winter estate to the city.) From the Jones estate. Also included is a replica of the original Edison incandescent bulb, given to Jones by Charles Edison -- the replica was made in 1929 to mark the 50th anniversary of the invention of the original bulb. See images. Bulb is in mint condition. Presumed to work -- filament is intact -- but has not (and will not) be tested. This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice.
