The medium sized jar also has geometric designs along the side, crack and chips to rim, 6" high, 6 1/2" diameter. Finally, a human effigy bowl with the cutest little fat feet, crack, 5 1/2" high, 8" wide, 6" deep.

Standing male figure with open mouth outstretched arms and painted jacket and facial features. 10 1/4''h. Collected by Charles Shanafelt ca. 1900. A few minor flakes to the slip; old label on his left side. Charles Shanafelt (b. 1855) was the senior member of the brickmaking firm of Shanafelt and Keurt. He collected the Cochiti figures offered here about 1900 and about 1915 they were placed in the ''relic room'' of an Ohio county courthouse. They remained there until later in the twentieth century they were transferred to a local historical institution. That institution has deaccessioned this collection and is selling it to further its mission.
