• An Empire Style Dining Table and
  An Empire Style Dining Table and Six Chairs, ca. 19th Century Including an Empire style extending dining table, approx. 51-1/4" in diameter x 30-1/4"H, with two 19" wide extension leaves, a polished edge 1/4" thick glass top, table pads, and six Empire style dining chairs. The table has elaborate decorative metal mounts on the apron; alternating anthemion pattern and swan in a wreath, and is supported by four columns on a curved stretcher base with quarter-matched veneers. The wood columns have metal Corinthian style capitals and metal laurel wreath bases. The finish overall is a light warm mahogany; pine secondary woods underneath. The six chairs are also in Empire style; approx. 37"H x 19-1/2"W x 19"D, 17" seat depth. The gondola style chairs have curved backs and sloping side rails, slightly splayed legs with the front legs terminating in decorative cast metal animal paws. There is a foliate metal mount on the crest rail and a matching one on the apron. The chairs are upholstered with a worn yellow satin striee fabric with French gimp trim.
