A Small French Enamel Patch Box circa 1770 of rectangular form with gilt metal mounts and enameled with gilt cartouches on a pink ground; the lid with a courting couple and violinist and the sides with floral sprigs; the interior with mirrored lid and the base marked Aimable Ieunesse douce Tendresse. Height 1 x width 1 3/4 x depth 1 1/2 inches.

Two English enamel patch boxes late 18th century, probably battersea The first lobed oval example with an armorial crest and motto 'Love for Love' on a pink ground and mirror interior; the second circular example painted with floral bands on a sky blue ground with gilt details. (2). L: 1 5/8 in. PROVENANCE: Property of Lord & Lady Coates, Belfast, Ireland By family descent Private Collection, Virginia. Slight loss of enamel to gilt decoration on the underside of round blue box. Some slight rust/patina to the metal on interior of pink box, consistent with age and use.

FRENCH ENAMEL BOX. Bearing enamel decoration on all four sides and cover. Interior cover bears additional enameled scene. Velvet lined H: 2.75'' W: 5.25'' D: 4'' Condition: There is a .25 inch diameter clear dried glue glob on the left corner of the inside of the lid. All metal setting has slight tarnish/ darkened pigment. One leg is slightly loose - jiggles. lid's top edge has a pen tip sized green paint spot and a pen tip sized darker pigment spot on the ground of the painted scene. All has medium dust/grime build up.
