ENGLISH PALACE INTERIOR WATERCOLOR & THE KING'S PICTURE...1st item: British School, late 19th century, watercolor painting depicting the interior of highly ornate building, possibly the Palace of Westminster, with portrait bust of Queen Victoria overlooking a center doorway and flight of stairs leading to an oval desk with inkstand in the foreground. A sculpture of the Earl of Beaconsfield, Benjamin Disraeli, stands at the right, all surrounded by elaborate marble walls and ceiling painted with vignettes labeled after British Lords Derby and Salisbury. Housed under glass in a newer burnished bronze color frame with linen liner. Sight 23"H x 17"W. Framed - 33"H x 26 1/2"W. 2nd - 4th items: THE KING'S PICTURES, Original Edition, Vol. I-III, with descriptive notes by P. G. Konody, Sir Martin Conway, and Sir Lionel Cust, K.C.V.O., arranged by C. Hubert Letts, published by The Fine Arts Publishing Company, Ltd., 1930. Softcover folio, 100 color or black and white tipped-in plates with English text pages, bound in publisher's original red paper wrappers and tied with red cord, pictorial labels to front covers. Ex libris labels to interiors of front covers. Approximately 15 1/2" H x 12" W x 1 1/2" D.
Condition:
1st item: 3" line across paint on rug, lower left (would have happened while paint was wet). 6" crease or scratch lower left corner. 2nd - 4th items: Covers with general expected handling wear including scuffs, dampstaining, sunning, tears, creases, pencil inscriptions from previous owners, and areas of loss, largest 1" x 1 1/2". Pages with light toning and handling wear, scattered minute foxing spots, minor tears, creases. Many pages are separated from cord binding. All plates are collated and in overall good condition with some creases.

Each of the approximately 250 illustrations printed in quadruple suite: one on Holland handmade paper and hand-colored; one on India paper; one on papier de Chine; and one on Japanese vellum, including portraits, scenes and views. Each volume bound in full Morocco, with a hand-painted portrait of one of the queens set into the full Morocco doublure inside the front cover.
