Ercole (Hercule) Trachel (French 1820-1872) watercolour Figures on a terrace with Nice in the distance 9.5 x 13.5in. Estimate ?500-800 Essentially in good untouched condition possibly slightly faded but still retaining good strength of colour a few minor scattered fox marks the majority of which are on the glass rather than the work itself. In an old brown faded card mount and reeded gilt frame thought to be c.1890. Some losses to some of the frames. Feint pencil inscription on back with details of title. All of these watercolours come from a private collection and have passed to the vendor by descent through the family. Come with a letter written giving provenance back to the date of the artist. Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear imperfections or the effects of aging.
